Newbridge House and Farm

Updated: Jul 19, 2020

Peacocks, pens and playgrounds - Newbridge House and Farm has it all. Something to offer for children of all ages!

First things first - Newbridge House and Farm is NOT in Newbridge! So many people make the mistake and start heading off in the wrong direction. Newbridge house is actually in Donabate, North County Dublin.

The first time we went to Newbridge House was 2017. I was pregnant with my daughter Charlie and we were looking for fun things to do during the day as a couple. Keogh's Farm were hosting Spud Fest on the grounds. There was music, food and it was a really great day.

Fast forward 2 years later and Charlie is now 20 months old, animal mad and loves a fun day out!

Newbridge House and Farm had great availability and we only booked 15 minutes before heading out. There is a lovey cafe on the grounds, with the current cover restrictions seating was limited to outdoors but it was great to grab a coffee for walking around.

The first part of the farm is the courtyard pens. Charlie loved this part as she recognised the donkeys, goats and sheep. There was also a really fun bunny rabbit pen which Charlie enjoyed.

Next you move to some cock-a-doodle-doos! The resident peacock roams free in this area. Be careful with toddlers, the peacock moves quite slow and as we know toddlers move quite quick! There is a pen full of hens and just around the corner some very very noisy roosters!

You then come out to a more open area where there are more goats, some pigs and a really pretty duck pond - Charlie was intent on making the sounds of every animal she saw! As you follow the route you come to some larger fields with more pigs, some horses and some cows.

Next you come to the very pretty walled garden which has beautiful flowers, so much colour, a fun water fountain and orchard full of apples! Charlie loved picking the apples but we weren't confident enough to let her eat any - she wasn't pleased!

Once you come back out to the front, there is a playground around by the carpark which is a great way to start or finish the day.
